the Church of the Sunday Morning Lowe's Run

Welcome to the Church of the Sunday morning Lowe's run. Welcome to building a house, one daggum piece at a time.

When you build a house from scratch, especially a very small house with only one partner - you will touch every part. You will overthink every stick and screw. You will spend so much time on your hands and knees, bowed before the task of building yourself a shelter and a home.

It is likely that at some point you will be very tired. You will be cold. Your stomach will hurt and you will wonder if it is something you ate or just anxiety over the fact that in two weeks you are moving out of your two bedroom rental home and into a structure that is still a pile of sticks and canvas.

Yet, it is well with my soul. Welcome to the Church of alt-rock radio in the car on a Sunday morning in a Lowe's parking lot. Welcome to the Church of highway driving dance parties. Welcome to the Church of chicken broth for sore tummies and sleep for weary bones. Welcome to the Church of putting together your life, one piece at a time.
