In the Beginning
I don’t really want to censor myself. That would make this
experiment quite boring.
But the internet itself calls for censorship of the self,
because I’ve got obligations to people and Responsibility that I actually kind
of care about because I have to pay for school – wait why is that the first
reason? Responsibility, because I kind of like being a good person and
succeeding and I personally believe that being a person with sense, kindness,
respect and a generally good attitude towards life will make me successful. And
happy.
But sometimes I get upset, and those are the times when I
most feel like writing, but also the times I don’t write things that are
entirely 100% post-able to the internets.
So I need to learn to write well when I’m happy! But that's my disclaimer, I guess, that sometimes I've got an attitude. Get used to it. But I'll try and write well, knowing I [might] have an audience.
This is my experiment. A semester (or more, hopefully, by
the time I get there) of blogging, meaning a post each day that I am within
reach of a computer, to document my first semester as a college kid. And a picture in each blog from that day, as long as I have my phone around too.
Also first an apology: I started this experiment late, having
already gone through a week of cross country practice and half an NROTC
orientation, but yesterday MIT Orientation started and today was Convocation,
so I haven’t missed much of that yet. I’ll try and make sure everything is
understandable.
Perhaps this will even be enjoyable.
Here we go.
